The short film “Taghi” directed by Kourosh Asgari received the Honorary Diploma in the International Section of the Tampere Film Festival.

According to ISNA, the Tampere Short Film Festival, one of the world’s most prestigious short film festivals, recently held its 48th edition, hosting 71 short films from around the world in the competitive section. “Taghi”, directed by Kourosh Asgari and representing Iran, succeeded in winning the Honorary Diploma in the International Section of this festival.
The film narrates the story of a female boat operator who ferries passengers across a river behind a marketplace and around a swamp. Frustrated with her life circumstances, she decides to change her situation and start a new life after a confrontation with her husband.
The screenplay for the film was written by Mohammad Shirvani, based on a concept by Kourosh Asgari, who also directed the film.
